Do you want to be part of a talented team of professionals building the key data infrastructure for one of the largest Healthcare Providers in the UK?

The Healthcare Informatics department at University Hospitals Birmingham (UHB) has an exciting opportunity to join the team responsible for the enterprise Data warehouse. This data repository supports all the key internal and external reporting, analytics, and research, making a real difference to patients and staff across the Trust. We are open to applications whatever your background, but you will need to be able to demonstrate a keen interest in data and databases. This is a great chance to develop your skills and learn from our experienced team.

Shortlisted applicants will first be invited to an aptitude test, with the best-performing candidates invited back for a full interview.

This role is based at Yardley Court, Edgbaston, with a minimum of 1 day per week in the office.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will:

  • Develop your skills in SQL, data management and analytics to tackle compelling technical problems within healthcare


  • Develop knowledge of NHS datasets, processes, and analytical techniques


  • Assist with projects to enhance the breath, quality and usability of the data available to users


  • Empower analysts by responding to technical queries and creating bespoke datasets under the guidance of senior team members


  • Learn the skills needed to help manage the new SQL Server 2019 Enterprise cluster
