Full Job Description

The successful candidate will support the Insurance Business Partner in the running of the whole insurance function for the council. You will learn the process of managing an insurance claim from start to finish from an administrative point of view.

This position will mostly involve using administration and communication skills with the need to think on your feet. You will quickly learn the importance of prioritising your workload to deadlines in a fast-paced changing environment. This is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to have a career in administration but not sure in what direction to go. Basic recognised training in the insurance field will be provided.

Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the Insurance Business Partner in the day to day running of the Insurance function

  • Liaising with the insurers and brokers with details of claims

  • Managing the insurance database and keeping all claims files accurate and up to date

  • Assisting with gathering data for the annual insurance renewals

  • Answering emails and dealing with correspondence on claims

  • Liaising internally with all departments on claims in their areas

  • This position requires a good level of standard education with ideally GCSE 4/C or above in English and Maths.
