Full Job Description

Applications are invited for the post of Business Continuity and Emergency Planning Officer in the Health and Safety Office, part of the Legal and Compliance Directorate. The role can be either full-time or part-time and is for maternity cover running from July 2024 to May 2025.
This post is within the Health and Safety Office and requires competence in working with stakeholders to increase tactical and operational resilience in an organisation. In addition, competence in fire safety is required so the post can support the Health and Safety Officer (Fire and Accessibility).

We require a calm and professional individual able to work stakeholders across the organisation to create and implement plans and procedures. The role reports to the Director of Health, Safety and Business Continuity who is the strategic lead for the college in this area. The ability to communicate accurately and diplomatically is essential as are excellent organisational skills. A recognised qualification in BCEP and fire safety are desirable, as is knowledge of experience in cyber security.
The Health and Safety Office is customer focused, assisting and empowering colleagues to allow them to make appropriate decisions, in this case in terms of business continuity and emergency planning. While legal compliance is the minimum, we strive for excellence and best practice within the Higher Education sector and this applies to improving our organisational resilience.
