Full Job Description

You will be responsible for growing the business from Commercial and Industrial sectors focusing on Printers, Box Makers and Retailers generating revenue and enhancing existing branch networks and core business activities. Supporting the Mixed Recycling Facility's (MRF) growth within the Local Authority sector and assisting in the development and implementation of a marketing strategy to support brand and market share growth.

Accountabilities and responsibilities

Business Development: Identification and development of business partnerships and prioritising future business growth opportunities accordingly. Leveraging the relationships of c. 7,500 existing customers and working closely with the business to grow the Casepak offering.

Relationship Management: Maintain and build relationships with new and existing suppliers to delight and innovate for your customers.

Data: Gathering and reporting on market intelligence whilst supporting tendering and negotiation processes with the application of accurate date.

Commercial acumen: Apply your industry knowledge to maintain business within set margin/profitability criteria and support the wider Commercial team with tenders, offers and contract submissions that are accurate and timely.

Industry experience: proven track record within the waste industry, with preference given to those who have worked in the paper/commodity sector. General knowledge of the local authority sector will also prove beneficial.

Waste: You will have a passion for reducing waste coupled with a knowledge of recovered paper and other recycling material qualities combined with a knowledge of UK and European waste and recycling legislation.

Business Development: having worked in a business development role, or similar, you will have knowledge in what it takes to grow a business in a competitive environment and understand the process involved in tenders.

Skills - key skills that would make you an ideal candidate for this role include:

Communication: A critical element of the role is communication with customers and suppliers and as such you will need strong written and verbal skills.

Negotiation & Influencing: To meet targets for business growth you will need to be confident when negotiating and influencing, using data and your knowledge of marketing tools, including presenting to a wide-ranging audience.

Driven: You will be a driven individual, motivated by achieving results and building strong relationships and networks that support you in achieving these results.

IT: IT competence is required although training in specific systems will be provided.
