Full Job Description

Our aim is to become a market leader in the provision of Electric Vehicle charging solutions to Local Authorities and Businesses as part of our strategy to lead the transition to zero carbon.

The goal is to undertake an ambitious electric vehicle charging installation program, deploying high volume and quality EV installations across the nation. Our aim is to make the world a better place, one charge point at a time.

The CAD Technician will work within Zest's Operations team to understand the requirements of their initial designs and turn them into accurate and detailed technical drawings. This will include both 2D & 3D modelling drawing.

These drawings are used at all stages of a project, from estimating cost and feasibility to creating the blueprints for manufacturing, instructions for installation, planning applications and consultations for local authorises and our clients., The role is responsible for the following:

  • Produce high quality and technically correct drawings, amend and revise drawings, produce plans in co-ordination with the Operations Team.

  • Create 2D/3D existing & proposed plans, technical drawings and initial concepts.

  • Use computer aided design technologies to produce and develop sketches, drawings and documents.

  • Take an active role in project and design team meetings and the coordination process.

  • Quality Assurance of drawings to ensure they are accurate and meet requirements.

  • Key Relationships:
  • Internal - Operations Team, Technical Delivery Managers, CAD Manager

  • External - External designers, Local Authorities, Land Owners

    Practical CAD experience - minimum of 3 years experience

  • Planning consultation drawings

  • Computer literate particularly in the use of CAD software

  • The ability to produce technical drawing.

  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements in order to design in line with industry standards.

  • Attention to detail, Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Technology (Desirable)

  • Level 2 or 3 Award in 2D Computer-Aided Design (Desirable)

  • Level 3 Diploma in Engineering design and draughting (Desirable), AutoCAD: 3 years (required)
