Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit a cook for our Tea Room to help our growing team and assist in the day to day running of our Farm Shop and Tea Room kitchen. The work environment will be fast paced at times and a large part of the role will be ensuring that all meals are prepared to the high standard we have become known for. You will need to be a team player, working alongside our existing Tea Room team to complete daily kitchen tasks to a very high standard, ensuring our customers receive the best possible service at all times. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and happy to innovate to keep our menu fresh and interesting.

Role Responsibility

  • Working closely with upper management you will be involved in all day to day tasks in the Tea Room and Farm Shop kitchen prep areas. This will include morning prep and evening shut downs - baking, meal prep etc

  • Prepare breakfasts and lunchtime meals in a methodical and timely manner

  • You will be involved in creating new menu items, menu development, promotions, events and seasonal lines.

  • You will be expected to rotate stock and maintain working levels of ingredients ensuring we do not run out during busy periods

  • Ensure the Tea Room kitchen is opened and closed on time and in an orderly manner being sure to adhere to all company standards, hygiene requirements, policies and procedures.

  • Maintain up to date records of daily, weekly and monthly inspections for higher management

  • Ensure that all standards are delivered throughout the shift to ensure complete customer satisfaction - completing all relevant checks, standards, food & health and safety checks and taking necessary remedial action or escalating as required.

    Friendly, approachable and motivated

  • Previous kitchen experience is preferred but not essential as training will be provided

  • Previous experience working within a fast paced customer facing environment is essential

  • Must be able to work during business opening hours including some weekends (Saturdays) and during school holidays

  • Enthusiasm to provide outstanding customer service

  • Positive attitude with willingness to learn

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients and staff at all levels
