Capital Projects Manager | Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust

You will need to have a proven detailed up to date working knowledge of current modern day construction working practices, ideally within the NHS and specifically Mental Health.

As a Construction Project Manager, you will be expected to work along side and with clinical\nonclinical teams and with Estates Maintenance personnel to provide an environment that's modern, to a high standard and safe to deliver mental health services from, and for staff to offer the best environment in which to work, by eliminating self-harming risks to service users and staff.

You will be expected to work with and clearly communicate construction project information to external consultants and to a wide range and variety of key stakeholders when planning projects and be able to demonstrate a knowledge of all areas of construction.

You will be expected to have a working knowledge of design packages such as AutoCAD or similar design packages and project management programming software

To manage a variety of capital projects within a healthcare environment.

· To follow applicable policies and procedures relating to the delivery of capital schemes.

· To undertake feasibility studies including option proposals and budget costs for capital schemes.

· Assist in the preparation of requests for capital funding and business cases for capital investments as required.

· The preparation and management of option appraisals for capital development including the formulation of strategic objectives, service profile, options (service and estate), operational policies, benefit appraisals, and financial appraisal.

· To undertake space planning and feasibility studies.

· Preparing reports of scheme costs, commitment and expenditure to the capital working group and the capital investment group as required.

· Planning and monitoring of capital schemes and reporting progress.

· Disseminating and/or cascading of information and training received to various personnel.

· Identifies, develops and implements new approaches to the procurement and management of capital works and adapts to changes within the capital project field.
