Full Job Description

Are you an experienced and compassionate Cognitive - Behavioural therapist who is passionate about supporting women, their babies and families?

Are you looking to gain specialist skills and experience in a supportive MDT setting? If so, then please consider joining us! The Lancashire and South Cumbria SPCMHT Perinatal Service has a reputation for providing kind and expert care to women, their families and babies during the perinatal period (conception up to two years).

We are a multidisciplinary service and work closely with partner agencies, including Maternity Services, Health Visiting, Adult Mental Health Services and the Reproductive Trauma Service.

hours per week for 12 months (or you may choose to work more hours over a shorter period of time, depending on your preference). This is to cover our current post holder's maternity leave.

You will be welcomed into an established psychology and therapy team embedded in the MDT, and will have good support from psychology and therapy peers across the team and service. We understand you might not have worked in perinatal mental health before, but we would
encourage applications from therapists who have a special interest in this client group and who feel they can work creatively and flexibly.

The post holder will provide maternity cover, offering qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to women and birthing people who are in the perinatal period and experiencing moderate to severe/complex perinatal
mental health difficulties.

The post holder will be part of a large multi-disciplinary Service and, as such, will work within its coordinated framework.

The post holder will work within the procedures, protocols and guidelines for the service.

The post holder will plan and organise their work schedule and tasks, having managerial and clinical supervision as the role demands.

Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
