Full Job Description

Location: London & Hybrid - 3 days per week in London office & the rest WFH. Also, occasional travel to other UK sites will be required.
The FCDO is rolling out a new End User Device solution to its 26,000 End Users worldwide. This Osprey Programme requires a Commercial Advisor to support the continued successful transition and delivery of the Programme.
Purpose of job:
As a Commercial Advisor, you will provide procurement/commercial support on procurement competitions, contracts, contract variations, increasing Commercials' influence of procurement and commercial improvement across FCDO's spend to improve value for money (VfM) and resulting impact for FCDO and its businesses.
The jobholder will work closely with internal colleagues to proactively seek opportunities to drive additional value, increase efficiency and manage risk and disputes.
This is a hands-on role with the requisite interpersonal skills necessary to support and work with our stakeholders in line with the FCDO Commercial Strategy and the FCDO Values.
SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be eligible and willing to undergo these checks
As a Commercial Advisor -DDat your main responsibilities will be:
+ Managing activities throughout the commercial lifecycle
+ Delivering the contracts necessary within the DDaT team in line with good practice within the Sourcing and Consultancy Playbooks.
+ Understanding the stakeholder's needs and market capabilities to support market-leading category and procurement strategies in collaboration with them.
+ Supporting stakeholder management activities and provide commercial expertise to stakeholders.
+ Producing and analysing high quality commercial management information (such as procurement pipelines and spend data).
+ Supporting the drafting of specifications, involvement in the invitation to tender and evaluation process and finalising supplier selection and contract awards.
+ Providing guidance to regional procurement teams on category specific projects and ensure their process and governance is in line with FCDO processes and aligned to the category strategy.
+ Helping to ensure robust management, maintenance, monitoring and intervention that delivers effective assurance and protection of FCDO's interests in key areas.
+ Supporting on contract exit activities
+ Pre-sourcing & transition and documentation into BAU
+ Supporting the implementation and management of Commercial policies relating to supplier disputes and/or risks.
+ Identifying and managing continuous improvement, opportunities and commercial risks.
+ Providing additional support to Commercial teams as required.

+ Experience of delivering and managing complex procurements and contract management
+ Proficient use of e-sourcing platforms, particularly Jaggaer
+ Strong understanding of the full commercial / procurement lifecycle.
+ Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to engage effectively and build relationships with staff, suppliers and stakeholders at all levels.
+ Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to take decisions based on well thought out conclusions and recommendations.
+ Strong attention to detail while having awareness of the bigger picture.
+ Good written and oral communication skills, including presenting.
+ Numerate with strong analytical skills.
+ Ability to successfully manage competing workloads in a fast-paced environment.
+ Experience of delivering and managing complex procurements and contract management
+ Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain effective and credible professional relationships.
+ Self-motivated and proactive, working well in team environment and under your own initiative.
+ Stakeholder Management
+ Proficient in Microsoft 365
+ An understanding of Public Contract Regulations 2015, the Sourcing Playbook and Consultancy Playbook.
+ Experience of delivering high value commercial / procurement projects in the public sector or a complex commercial environment.
