Full Job Description

Job aim: To enhance our profile within the local community. To reach and keep unpaid carers, and our key stakeholders, engaged and informed by creating and managing accessible content, across multiple channels., Location: Hybrid. Mainly working from home but you will need to be able to attend meetings (during working hours) in Aylesbury and Milton Keynes when required., These include, but are not limited to:

· Working with the senior management team to develop an annual communications plan which supports the organisational strategy and features key publicity opportunities e.g. Carers Week and Carers Rights Day.

· Increasing the numbers of unpaid carers accessing our support by identifying the most effective ways to communicate across our local demographic, with a particular focus on carers from under represented communities.

· Creating and managing the content of 2 websites and 2 digital platforms (technical support provided by CO and outsourced where appropriate).

· Creating information leaflets, flyers, posters and presentations to support planned communications activity.

· Liaising with staff teams in order to collate, write and finalise the content for the charity newsletters (4 per annum) and oversee the CO in relation to the design, prioritisation, scheduling and printing process.

· Maintaining up-to-date profile of all our key stakeholders to ensure they are kept up to date with our activities and achievements.

· Overseeing all social media activity to ensure content is regular, relevant, engaging and effective.

· Monitoring national media and key Carer websites, identifying tactical opportunities for local news stories and comment. Liaising with local media outlets to arrange interviews and column space, where appropriate.

· Working with the Operations Manager and CEO to create new and interactive ways of communicating with different target audiences, e.g. video case studies.

· Other duties as reasonably required by your line manager.

· Excellent writing skills and the ability to communicate information in a lively, accurate and readable manner in a variety of formats, for targeted audiences.

· Excellent organisational skills - you must be able to prioritise and balance a range of projects and a varied workload, ensuring key tasks are completed by expected deadlines.

· A demonstrable ability to use and work with MS applications, multi-content (including video), social media platforms and design packages.

· Detail oriented and able to work well under pressure.

· Ability to motivate and lead one member of staff to deliver on agreed plans/ deadlines and collaborate effectively across the organisation when necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

· Experience in a similar role (E) within the charitable sector (D)

· Experience in line managing staff (E)

· A full driving licence and access to own transport (D) (alternatively you would need to be able to ensure you could attend meetings, as required, using public transport. If you did use public transport the time taken, over and above a standard car journey, would not be included in your working day.)
