Full Job Description

To connect Livability Millie College and the Holton Lee site to the local community. Plan conservation-based activities and events in line with the college's enterprise strategy and support student learning and community engagement. Deliver outcomes that aid the college's long-term enterprise goals. Develop and maintain successful relationships with external stakeholders to expand the college's reach in the wider community. Support the growth of our enterprise activities, both on and off-site, through attendance of events, building community contracts for horticulture activities and generating volunteering opportunities. Provide practical knowledge and support around the use of tools on and off site. Support income generation through enterprise activities, events and community contracts. Assist in developing Holton Lee nature reserve as a well-maintained visitor destination.

Livability Millie College is a post 16-25 education setting helping young people with a range of learning and physical disabilities in Dorset and the local area, bridging the gap between education and employment.

It is a one-of-a-kind work environment, set on a 350-acre countryside site near Poole. The college's curriculum is directly aligned to its natural environment and the enterprise activities that operate there, including animal care, catering and retail, conservation and horticulture. Students are supported with personalised learning programmes which build confidence and independence, underpinned by a focus on wellbeing.

We now have an opening for a Conservation and Community Ranger to join our college team. This unique role will support the development of conservation management activity on site, through student and volunteer engagement. Working as part of our Enterprise Team, you will develop our external stakeholder engagement, promoting wider access, as part of our outreach offer. In addition, the postholder will support income generation through our existing horticulture community contracts, additional contracts and events.

This is a 12-month fixed-term position, with the potential to become a permanent role.
