Full Job Description

The project manager will manage capital projects through an outsourced delivery model within a geographic region to ensure the project completes on time, within budget and to the required standards, ensuring that BT's workplace provides the correct working environment for BT, EE and Openreach colleagues

The projects delivery team is responsible in maintaining over 6000 properties, covering 65million sqft across the UK. We are continuing to deliver high-class fit outs as part of BT's transformation programme bringing over 500 office spaces into 30 key sites and hubs. The Property team over the next 10 years and beyond will be continuing to deliver key projects and programmes transforming the BT Groups strategic ambitions. BT are investing highly in our operational estate; the projects and workplace team will be leading on producing quality refurbishments to match the quality of our network installations.

What you'll be doing

  • Responsible for capital projects across the UK property portfolio with primary focus on the delivery of the annual infrastructure programme.

  • Focused on delivering considerable volumes(both monetary and schemes) across the operational BT estate, improving the facilities to reduce risk and improve welfare facilities

  • Contribute to the UK property design guide.

  • Help to deliver a stakeholder management and communication plan as part of the infrastructure programme

  • Manage the outsourced projects and construction partners to ensure that projects are completed on time, to budget and to agreed standards.

  • Coordinate day to day management of property projects to drive the ongoing delivery of property strategy and plans

  • Provide technical expertise, strategic consultancy to the business and thought leadership, ensuring feasibility of projects and programmes and delivery of real property and commercial benefit to the business unit or region of responsibility

  • Identify and execute opportunities to deliver financial savings across the property portfolio within area of responsibility

  • Liaise with key business stakeholders and colleagues to ensure that projects pass through the governance model and relevant approvals efficiently, Business Strategy

  • Previous experience in project management within construction.

  • Commercially aware with a deep understanding of the construction / fitout industry.

  • Understanding of small works projects, and infrastructure project activity(m&e, roofs, power)

  • Experience of managing capital projects and large volume programmes with additional experience of

  • managing through an outsourced delivery model.
  • Experience of ensuring the operational delivery and maintaining operational workplaces. Business disruption events can have large impact on BT operations.

  • Experience of managing both direct and external supply chains

  • Working with corporate organisations and/or professional services/contractor environments

  • Stakeholder engagement: able to engage effectively with senior stakeholders to fully understand and meet their needs.

  • Contract and supplier management: able to effectively drive strategic partners to deliver on our strategy in an ethical, commercially efficient and service orientated way.

  • Analysis and storytelling with data: an ability to assimilate large quantities of complex information with a view to extracting points of relevance quickly and the ability to convey this in a compelling and persuasive way.

  • Complex programme management: able to plan, deliver and monitor complex programmes delivered through a number of discrete projects, recognising, and managing interdependencies to ensure delivery on time, in budget and to
