Full Job Description

The Digital Technology Management Office is responsible for the management & performance of operational tasks involved in maintaining an accurate and recorded commercial and contractual position of Digital Technology UK in the systems and plans of record with respect to the services received from Digital Technology Group & 3rd party local suppliers, which are then charged to the respective businesses in E.ON UK.

Responsibiltiies

  • Provide comprehensive analysis and insights to stakeholders, facilitating a clear understanding of the commercial and contractual landscape concerning received services, both holistically and in detail.

  • Interrogate service and license consumption to ensure accuracy and alignment with approved budgets and contractual obligations.

  • Validate billing accuracy and address discrepancies, ensuring alignment with commercial management principles and agreed budgetary parameters.

  • Steer and assist business in optimising operational costs by monitoring and reporting on digital service consumption and license renewals.

  • Calculate and propose values and inputs for the Mid-Term Plan (MTP) and forecasting processes.

  • Conduct year-end and quarter-end activities ensuring the necessary information is captured for audit purposes.

  • Monitor allocated Digital Technology licenses, analysing trends and anticipating future usage where applicable.

  • Maintain an internal financial/commercial risk log to assess and mitigate potential risks.

  • Conduct Vendor Management and Commercial Management committees.

  • Work closely with Supply Chain colleagues on Commercial and Contract evaluations and renewals providing subject matter expertise where applicable.

  • Manage the progression and audit trail of any allocated supplier contract changes.

  • Accurately track actual costs of services, ensuring that any variance from the plan is highlighted and managed accordingly.

  • Collaborate with Digital Technology Product Owners to understand requirements and product roadmaps, effectively applying strategic direction to contractual activities.

    Proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, as well as ensuring compliance with contractual obligations throughout the contract lifecycle.

  • The ability to negotiate effectively with both internal stakeholders and external partners to achieve mutually beneficial agreements.

  • The capacity to analyse complex data and information to inform decision-making, identify trends, and assess performance against key metrics.

  • Clear and concise communication skills are essential for conveying complex contractual and commercial concepts to various stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.

  • The capability to identify issues, anticipate challenges, and develop creative solutions to resolve conflicts or mitigate risks in contractual and commercial matters.

  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with internal teams, external partners, vendors, and clients to foster collaboration and achieve strategic objectives.

  • Strong project management skills to effectively manage multiple contracts, initiatives, and deadlines simultaneously while prioritising tasks and resources efficiently.

  • A foundational understanding of relevant legal frameworks, regulations, and industry standards pertaining to contracts and commercial transactions.

  • A commitment to staying informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to contract and commercial management.

  • Previous stakeholder management experience at a senior level.


  • Desirable
  • A strong understanding of business principles, including financial analysis, pricing strategies, and market dynamics, to drive profitable outcomes and mitigate risks.

  • Proficient in carrying out forecasting, commercial planning, and reconciliation processes.

  • Be able to explain commercial topics in a straightforward way.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced commercial environment, working to tight deadlines.

  • The ability to align contract and commercial activities with broader organisational goals and objectives, while also anticipating future opportunities and challenges

  • Knowledge of the E.ON Billing and Supply Chain processes

  • Intermediate/advanced excel user.

  • Preferable experience of using SAP, Power BI, SAP BW, Apptio, CoPlanner, LeanXI
