Full Job Description

We are looking for a Cost Accountant to join our Finance team in Cramlington to support the business across contributing reporting and product costing.

What you'll be doing

Update and analyse standard product costs and recommend changes
Calculate and review machine hour rates
Review contribution dashboards by product, customer and region
Generate and analyse material and labour variances including usage and price variances, PPV
Produce product costing data to support commercial decision making
Reconcile stock and oversee stock counting procedures
Produce slow / obsolete moving stock reports and provide accordingly in financial statements
Reconcile sales and accrued income reports to ensure correct P&L and balance sheet postings
Produce and monitoring sales and order intake budgets and forecasts
Take ownership of rebate and commission process, ensure accruing and paying of customer rebates on time
To work in a safe manner, driving positive behaviour and leading by example with regard to the company's health, safety and environmental policies.

To apply, we are looking for someone who is a part qualified accountant or is qualified by experience. We ask that you have knowledge of management account issues, have a creative approach to improving systems and can resolve problems efficiently. A high standard of numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail are a must!

This position will be on a full-time, permanent basis working 35 hours per week, dayshift. To provide its employees an improvement in work/life balance, CMP operates a 9-day fortnight (9/10) where staff employees have the opportunity to work compressed working hours and as a result have every other Friday as a day off.
