Full Job Description

The post holder will be expected to deputise for the Heads of Inpatients to drive the service forward and meet the changing demands of the health economy. You will work collaboratively with a fellow deputy and the Inpatient clinical leads on the organisation, delivery and strategic planning of the therapy service. You will support the delivery of timely, safe and effective service in line with local and national guidelines and targets, across the Inpatient pathway., To be responsible for organisation, delivery and strategic planning of inpatient therapy services across Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and Cheltenham General Hospital.
To work collaboratively with the members of the Therapy Leadership team to deliver an Integrated Therapy (Occupational therapy/Physiotherapy) service.
To provide operational management for the inpatient therapy staff, in order to deliver a high quality service to patients.
To provide professional leadership and accountability for inpatient staff.
To take the lead for clinical governance, service change and development.
To maintain a relevant clinical caseload., Be responsible for the management of approximately 60wte staff, comprising registered Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists and therapy support staff.
- Be accountable to the Head of Inpatient Therapy.
- The post holder will ensure effective control and use of resources to support budget management. This includes reviewing staff resources and skill mix to meet service need. The post holder assumes responsibility for the day to day management of the clinical area.
- To maintain a clinical commitment that accounts for a minimum of 20% of contracted hours and to be present clinically in the department, during clinical hours.

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, effective and motivated leader, with proven operational and relevant clinical experience, for our Therapy Inpatient service across our two sites at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust., You will have operational management experience with skills to lead change and forge strong relationships within the Acute Trust and across the healthcare community. You will have experience of personnel processes and be able to manage, review and evaluate existing services to ensure that provision is equitable across the service.

The Therapy service provides physiotherapy and occupational therapy to inpatients and outpatients at Gloucestershire Royal and Cheltenham General Hospitals.
