Full Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Risk & Compliance to lead and oversee all aspects of risk management, compliance, and regulatory matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the regulatory landscape, exceptional leadership qualities, and the ability to drive strategic initiatives to ensure the organisation's adherence to industry standards and legal requirements., + Develop and implement an enterprise-wide risk management framework to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with the company's operations.
+ Lead risk assessments, monitor risk exposure, and provide actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish risk tolerance levels and develop risk mitigation strategies.
Compliance Oversight:
+ Ensure the company's compliance with relevant UK and international regulations, standards, and guidelines.
+ Stay updated on changes to regulatory requirements and assess their impact on the business.
+ Ensure awareness of, and compliance with relevant industry regulatory and compliance requirements for our products and services.
+ Design and execute compliance monitoring programs to assess and report on the effectiveness of internal controls.
Regulatory Affairs:
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, external auditors, and legal counsel in matters related to risk and compliance.
+ Coordinate and manage regulatory inspections, audits, and inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
+ Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the evolving regulatory landscape within the SaaS industry.
Policies and Procedures:
+ Establish and maintain comprehensive risk and compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines that align with industry best practices.
+ Communicate and educate employees on compliance requirements, fostering a culture of awareness and accountability.
+ Proactively contribute to bids, proposals, and pre-sales activity in respect of Risk & Compliance management and adherence.
+ Proactively contribute towards product and service development ensuring the Risk & Compliance function proactively informs product development and business processes and policy is enhanced to meet any changed requirements prior to go-live.
Training and Awareness:
+ Design and deliver training programs to educate employees on risk management principles, compliance obligations, and ethical conduct.
+ Promote a culture of compliance by fostering a sense of responsibility and ownership among all staff members.
Reporting and Documentation:
+ Prepare and present regular reports to senior leadership and the Board of Directors on the status of risk management and compliance efforts.
+ Maintain accurate and organized documentation of risk assessments, compliance activities, and regulatory interactions.

  • Professional certification (e.g. CRO, CRISC, CCEP) preferred.

  • Proven experience in a senior risk management or compliance role within a SaaS, technology, or related industry.

  • In-depth knowledge of UK and international regulatory requirements applicable to SaaS businesses.

  • Industry specific regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to our suite of services, products, and customers.

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Experience in developing and implementing risk management frameworks, compliance programs, and policies.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and effectively manage regulatory relationships.

  • Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies, compliance software, and data analytics tools.

  • A track record of driving a culture of ethics, integrity, and compliance within an organisation.
