Duty Manager

The Tring Sports Centre is operated by Tring Sport and Leisure Ltd which is a wholly owned trading subsidiary of Tring School. The Centre has extensive leisure facilities including a brand new sports hall, large activity studio with a semi-sprung floor, a newly refurbished swimming pool, floodlit astroturf and grass pitches.

We are seeking a Duty Manager who will ideally have previous supervisory/management experience in the hospitality or service industry. You will be well organised, have good communication skills and a can-do attitude. Ideally you will also have a First Aid at Work Certificate and a Pool Plant Operator qualification (although training is available for these). You will work within a fast-pace, stimulating environment that fosters a culture of teamwork and fun. We have high expectations of all staff to ensure that customer service is first class and that the facilities are kept in tip-top condition.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

• Ensuring a welcoming and prpfessional front of house presence is delivered at all times


• Assuming responsibility for centre operations on a shift rotation basis


• Coordinating the efficient and effective deployment of the team


• Undertaking reception, pool supervision and membership sales, as required


• Cash reconciliation and banking duties


• Assisting in the development and management of a well-balanced activity and event programme


• Carrying out relevant and required health and safety checks and pool processes (eg water testing, back washing)


• Delivering induction, training, appraisals, development and performance management of staff where required


• Establish and maintain excellent relationships with our customers and potential customers
