Full Job Description

We are looking for a charismatic, motivated, reliable, hardworking individual to join our team as a Field Supervisor at our Ardleigh site, working as part of the Soft Fruit Production Team, and reporting to the Harvest and Labour Manager.

The successful candidate will be responsible for

  • managing a team of seasonal workers on a daily basis and ensuring that they carry out their tasks to the required quality and meet targets. Tasks performed by the seasonal workers include fruit picking and related husbandry works such as weeding.

  • field operations & field organisation

  • Health and Safety at work

  • employee Time & Attendance monitoring and recording

  • assisting with employee training and performance management.


  • The position may require the individual to perform other general duties from time to time that is reasonably within their capability.

    People Management or Supervision experience

    - Ability to communicate effectively with the team- basic English Speaking

    - The individual will have a professional attitude and approach to work

    - Excellent attention to detail

    - Interpersonal Skills

    Boxford (Suffolk) Farms is an award-winning fruit farm, growing quality fresh fruit in a multicultural workplace, with a family atmosphere.

    Located on the Essex and Suffolk border in the beautiful Dedham Vale which is part of the Boxford Group, we are a growing and diverse business that produces Class 1 handpicked fruit for supermarkets such as CO-OP, Sainsbury's and Morrison's. We grow over 100 hectares of Apples, 15 hectares of Strawberry table tops, 11 hectares of Raspberries, 10 hectares of Cherries, and 8 hectares of Blueberries, as well as some Asparagus and Maize cultivations. Additional to this we have multiple Cold Stores, a Wood enterprise, and an AD Plant which generates green energy supporting the whole site.

    We offer competitive pay, dependant on experience and qualifications.

    The farm operates over a 7-day week, and the workload and tasks will vary dependant on the role and the time of season. We offer minimum 32 hours per week for these positions, with overtime paid at a time and a quarter after 48 hours in a week.
