Full Job Description

Operational management

  • Oversee multiple F&B operations ensuring the smooth running of all services inclusive of the restaurant, bar, terrace, room service, picnics, spa bar, and weddings &events.


  • Create a welcoming environment for customers and drive a guest focus culture.


  • Ensure consistent, high-quality food and beverages are served to customers.


  • Handle and provide adequate solution to customer complaints.


  • Deal with customer feedback, sharing to the team and implementing actions.


  • Oversee the cleanliness of the venue and pay attention to possible health hazards and regulation violations.


  • Ensure all Health & Safety legal requirements are up to date.


  • Team Management
  • In cooperation with the Human Resources department, the General Manager, the Restaurant Manager, and the Bar Manager, participate to the recruitment and onboarding of the restaurant and bar teams.


  • Manage the schedules of the restaurant and bar teams.


  • Work with and develop the Restaurant and Bar Managers and supervisors.


  • Create a positive work environment, ensuring a high employee engagement and optimising the employee retention.


  • Work to resolve staff complaints, escalating to the GM when necessary.


  • Conduct regular performance review and talent management, conduct appraisals and strategize for improving staff performance, in cooperation with the HR team and the General Manager.


  • Administrative and Financial Management
  • In cooperation with the UK F&B Director and the General Manager, optimise the profitability of the venue by managing margins through food sales and beverages sales.


  • In cooperation with the GM, optimise the profitability of the venue by managing margins through food sales and beverages sales.


  • Monitor key activity indicators and take corrective actions where necessary.


  • Monitor and maintain a consistent payroll.


  • Ensure the maintenance of staff records and the monitoring of hours worked.


  • Carry out regular reporting on activities.


  • Participate in the management of inventory, orders, and purchases.

    Experience in a similar role within a comparable venue.

  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills.

  • Be well spoken with excellent communication skills.

  • Attention to details and customer needs.

  • Social, engaging and motivated.

  • Flexibility to respond quickly and positively to a range of work situations.

  • Knowledge as well as abilities in other languages would be beneficial.

  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.

    Acquired by the Experimental Group in 2022, Cowley Manor is entering the next chapter of its life. The property is home to 36 bedrooms complemented by a spa, restaurant, cocktail lounge, library, mudroom and plentiful living rooms. The property features a postcard landscape of rolling hills and sheep dotted in the distance spread across 55 acres of idyllic countryside.

    The refurbished design by Dorothée Meilichzon has taken inspiration from each chapter of Cowley Manor's book, weaving together classical inspiration with contemporary elements across each of the estate's bedrooms. A sort of joyeux bordel, a happy mess.

    The new restaurant and cocktail bar at Cowley Manor is a place to celebrate a milestone, or simply enjoy a wonderful meal. Local produce will be at the forefront, highlighting some of Gloucestershire's finest offerings. The spa features treatments such as relaxing massages, facials and more. gym, indoor or outdoor pool.
