Are you in the first 2 years studying Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy or Nutrition and Dietetics at university?
We have a number of fixed term full-time opportunities from July 1^st until 30^th August 2024, working as a therapy assistant across our integrated therapies teams.
Your role would be to provide support for assessment, therapy and management of patients, aiding reablement and providing assistance to our therapy workforce. We will provide you with hands on opportunities, working with experienced staff in the therapy environment. You will be placed with a team based in Ipswich Hospital, in accordance with your skill set and our service need. Areas where you may be placed include; trauma and orthopaedics, acute medical, surgical, acute stroke, older peoples services. This could be supporting any or all of the following disciplines; speech and language therapy, nutrition and dietetics, physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
This is an excellent opportunity to extend your placement experiences and skills, working with us at ESNEFT!, Contribute to formal and informal therapy assessments, under the guidance of a registered therapist and provide feedback on patients' functioning in delegated observation, assessment and treatment sessions.
To obtain relevant information from patients' case notes and provide feedback to registered therapist as required.
Assist and inform the registered therapist in the planning, implementation, evaluation and modification of therapy and team interventions.
Under the guidance of a registered therapist provide a range of interventions / programme of interventions, instructing and guiding patients / carers to support them in achieving identified therapy goals, using specific skills and knowledge of health conditions and patients daily living tasks developed in the post and beyond, and relevant to the clinical area.
To use observational skills and role specific knowledge to monitor and report patients' progress to a qualified therapist.
Under the direction of a qualified Therapist, to have delegated responsibility for an agreed caseload of patients with non-complex needs, where appropriate.
To support clinical administrative tasks, such as producing therapy resources and updating clinical information, under the guidance of a qualified therapist.
