Full Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate building surveyor looking to work towards full RICS membership. You will join a multi-disciplinary team working with a wide portfolio of property. You will be assisting with the Council's capital building projects which includes an exciting £20 million of levelling up funding to redevelop and enhance Malvern Theatres. Other projects will include the development of leisure and sporting facilities, renovation of listed buildings together with energy and carbon reduction measures delivered through various funding schemes. Day to day tasks will also include small repair specifications, organising general building repairs, condition surveys, dilapidation surveys, developing and delivering planned maintenance programmes across all the councils' assets.,

  • Prepare design drawings, specifications, pre-tender safety plans and obtain permissions for the minor alteration and refurbishment works to the Council's operational buildings

  • Assist with the management of capital projects for the Council and third party organisations including the preparation of tender documents, inviting tenders/quotations, tender evaluation and value engineering, contract administration and project management and signing off stage payments

  • Undertake the preparation of condition surveys, identify and programme planned and cyclical maintenance schedules To ensure that all maintenance and improvement works are correctly administered, cost effective, represent value for money and are completed in a proper and workmanlike manner

  • To manage minor building repair works, commission and place orders for repairs and supervise them through to completion

    We require an enthusiastic, organised and self-motivated individual, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You will have a degree in Building Surveying or a comparable qualification together with practical building related experience. We will give you the support and experience required to complete your APC and attain full RICS membership.
