The core purpose of this post is to lead the PE department and management of the PE facilities. It is expected that the successful candidate will consistently plan and deliver outstanding lessons within the department and contribute to the development of the PE department within the school and across the Trust. There is an expectation that the PE department will make a significant contribution to the enrichment programme including a range of clubs and fixtures.

The Head of PE will lead an innovative and forward-looking department taking responsibility for line managing and coaching members of the department.

We expect the Head of PE to also actively contribute to development of teaching, learning and assessment within their faculty. Understanding what makes excellent quality of education within your curriculum (intent, implementation, and impact) will be expected. The Head of PE will also contribute to and support the development of PE design and provision across the federation.

It is expected that the successful candidate will consistently plan and deliver outstanding lessons within the department.

· The school has a straightforward approach to disruption to lessons. We follow a warn-remove policy where any student who disrupts learning, having been previously warned and given the opportunity to correct their behaviour, including opting out of work, is removed from the lesson

· The Academy has zero tolerance for any act of defiance or disrespect towards staff or other students
