Full Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced technical officer within the Home Environment Assessment and Response (Heart) Team. This post is fixed-term for 18 months.

The Home Environment Assessment and Response Team plays a vital role in ensuring that residents across Warwickshire have access to grants and facilities to adapt their homes to support living in an accessible, healthy and safe environment.

The HEART Technical Officer will be responsible for:

Carrying out detailed and complex inspections of residential dwellings and must have the ability to identify hazards and an understanding of the remedial works needed to remedy.

Designing and producing schemes of required improvements, repairs and adaptations that meet the needs of the individual client.

Provide technical advice and assistance to other staff within the HEART team.

Work with architects, occupational therapists, housing assessment officers and other professionals to provide detailed schedules of work.

Developing a trusting relationship with clients, ensuring the service is delivered to the highest standard, maintaining professionalism, adapting delivery to suit the clients needs to ensure works are completed within set timeframes and to the required specifications.

Working with contractors to deliver various types of adaptions, whilst ensuring the works meet the required specifications and the needs of the client.

  • A BTEC HNC level 4 Building or equivalent qualification.

  • Be able to produce and understand technical drawings.

  • Have, or be willing to obtain a certificate in Housing Health and Safety Rating.

  • Experience of providing a public service and understanding customer care issues.

  • Experience of working within a housing inspection environment and having previously conducted housing surveys/inspections..

  • A full clean driving license
