Full Job Description

1.44 WTE: as a neonatal Housekeeper, keeping our ward well stocked and we have good rotation of clean incubators ready for use following appropriate decontamination.
20 hrs (0.53 WTE) on a fixed term basis: as a Family Support Housekeeper (covering 4/5 days) ensuring our parent accommodation is kept clean and tidy with facilities available to families and carers., Clean patient incubators to a high standard and keep records of this, to ensure patient safety and infection prevention.
Ensure patient equipment is clean and available for use.
Maintain ward area, family kitchens and waiting facilities to a high standard, ensuring parents have access to a clean environment and a variety of food.
Order supplies as required to perform laundry and maintain parent facilities.
Carry out all duties safely and responsibly, showing awareness of Health and Safety Policies, Food Hygiene and COSHH Regulations
Work alongside members of the multi-disciplinary team to develop a quality service, with particular attention to infection control and prevention.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and respond sensitively in potentially difficult situations, reporting to Senior nurse.
Following appropriate training, may be required to work at alternative areas in the Directorate to meet wider service need.

The Directorate of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Neonatology is based at the Jessop Wing which is linked to the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. The maternity unit has over 6800 births per year and is a Regional Tertiary Maternity Service with a Level 3 Neonatal Unit of 44 cots. A tertiary Gynae-Oncology service and a changing Gynaecology Service, which includes an Assisted Conception Unit, complete the services within the Directorate.
Please note this advertisement is for both permanent and fixed term/secondment opportunities.
There are 2 x permanent posts and 1 x fixed term advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of 12 months due to the post being externally funded. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts taking into consideration the ongoing source of the external funding and the requirement for the post to be maintained.
Please also note any secondment must first be agreed with your current line manager.
