Full Job Description

At ATS, our Industrial IT Architects play a crucial role in delivering complex manufacturing IT projects for customers within the Aerospace and Defence industry sectors. This role involves taking ownership of technical scope across multiple projects and managing it throughout the entire project life cycle, including delivering high-quality technical documentation aligned with customers' technical governance and assurance criteria. As part of this role, you will assume technical leadership within projects to facilitate effective collaboration among technical delivery teams within our customers' organisation and their various IT suppliers, ensuring seamless integration for project success. RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead the technical aspects of manufacturing IT projects, aligning with business objectives and customer technical standards. Oversee the project's technical scope, guiding project management teams for effective planning and execution. Identify, capture, and mitigate project risks and
issues. Host workshops and meetings to facilitate collaboration among technical delivery teams. Produce high quality technical documentation and review constituent design documentation, ensuring overall solution design integrity. Engage with Operational Technology OEMs for integrating manufacturing equipment with enterprise IT applications and networks. Collaborate with pre-delivery and proposals teams to develop robust, commercially viable responses to customer requests for quotations. Inspire our team of Industrial IT Engineers with their professional development by providing mentorship, guidance, and opportunities for growth, ensuring they stay motivated and continuously enhance their skills.

Proven experience in technically delivering IT projects. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience. Proven knowledge and ability to work with various IT disciplines, including networking, security, servers, infrastructure, virtualization, application development, and cloud offerings. Ability to support Industrial IT Engineers with the delivery of complex industrial IT solutions in manufacturing environments. Working knowledge of Enterprise IT systems and associated service and project delivery frameworks (e.g., ITIL, PRINCEII, TOGAF). Good understanding of OT (Operation Technologies) such as PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, and associated data transport protocols like OPC UA, OPC DA, MTConnect, Profinet, and Profibus. Understanding of ISA-95 and its translation to the "Purdue Model" Strong interpersonal skills, with effective communication at all levels. Articulate in written and spoken language at technical, logical, and business levels. Experience in understanding business requirements to
produce quotes for large-scale projects. Ability to obtain Security Clearance to work at a UK MOD accredited manufacturing facility. Willingness to work on-site at customers' manufacturing facilities across the UK and occasionally overseas.
