Full Job Description

The UK&I Finance Manager will report into the UK&I Financial Controller and will lead the financial accounting team. The role is a key member of the UK&I finance team, responsible for the internal and external reporting of financial information for the Odeon operating companies, maintaining robust financials controls in a fast changing environment and providing ad hoc financial support to the business.,

  • Manage, develop and lead the financial accounting team.

  • To manage the statutory reporting obligations including UK and Ireland Statutory accounts, Audit, VAT and Tax

  • Ensure the delivery of production of high quality management and financial information in a timely manner, including the month-end close process and group reporting requirements

  • Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting process for operating expenses

  • Ensure the effective design and operation of SOx controls across the team and work with internal and external audit in the testing of these controls.

  • To manage the Capital Expenditure control, reporting requirements, tracking and monitoring of spend

  • Oversee the accounting for rent and property leases to provide accurate reporting of the financial position and controls over property lease changes.

  • Working with all Finance functions to ensure any anomalies, risks or opportunities are appropriately communicated to key stakeholders

  • Support key stakeholders around the business including the UK & Ire FD, UK FP&A team, UK Transactional Finance team, UK Senior Team and Group Finance

  • Working with and proactively supporting the non-Finance functions to add real insight and value to the business and commercial decision making

    ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified with experience of leading and developing a team of part qualified / qualified accountantsExperience of working within a busy finance function, preferably within a multi site, retail, leisure or FMCG, environment

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of building relationships outside of the Finance function

  • Experience of leading the end to end Statutory Accounts process

  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills with an ability to then communicate the results and implications to Finance and non-Finance people

  • Experience of managing year end processes

  • Proven track record of managing VAT, Tax and External Auditors

  • IFRS, US GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley experience would be advantageous

  • Self motivated, keen to achieve targets, focuses on results and have proven record of successful delivery of objectives

  • Experience in financial systems and Microsoft packages

  • Ability to both self manage and work without supervision and to also be able to work within a team to maximise team and individual performance

  • Able to manage multiple tasks within a fast moving environment with the ability to manage expectations and hit deadlines

  • Willingness to challenge existing practises by identifying alternative, appropriate and/or innovative solutions

  • Flexible and hard working with a can do attitude

  • Able to demonstrate ownership and personal responsibility
