Full Job Description

As the IoT Systems Operative, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Lead on the installation of hydrological sensors in a variety of locations and for a variety of purposes, above and/or below-ground.

  • Provide support during preliminary site visits to gauge technical and consenting requirements prior to hydrological sensor instrumentation.

  • Interpretation of drainage maps/plans, flood risk maps and/or other related resources to support scoping of consenting and installation requirements.

  • Liaising with relevant stakeholders (e.g. Environment Agency, Drainage Boards, SEPA, Natural Resources Wales, Lead Local Flood Authorities) to gain permissions prior to sensor(s) instrumentation, as appropriate.

  • Effectively adopt and utilise Previsico's field service management system and related system(s).

  • Plan, manage and/or deliver works prior to installation e.g. the planning and/or delivery of traffic management measures, as appropriate, and in line with your level(s) of qualification and experience.

  • Complete forms and/or reports, summarising findings from site surveys and installations.

  • Assist with aspects of the day-to-day delivery and maintenance of sensors within the UK, supporting other geographies, as appropriate.

  • Support on undertaking site audits to ensure pre- and post-installation works are completed to an appropriate standard.

  • Supporting delivery of subcontractor training, as appropriate, and with support from the wider sensors team.

    We currently have an exciting opportunity for an IoT Systems Operative to join our growing team. As a technology scale-up we are looking for a proactive and dynamic individual with deep knowledge and experience of installing environmental monitoring equipment (preferably hydrological monitoring equipment e.g. instruments capable of monitoring stage/depth, velocity, water physiochemistry) or similar. Experience of implementing or undertaking works under traffic management measures and relevant certificates/training (e.g. CSCS, SMSTS, BPSS, NRSWA, confined spaces) are expected / desirable. The IoT Systems Operative will support delivery of the day-to-day operational aspects of Previsico's sensor solutions in the UK, including but not limited to undertaking preliminary site visits to gauge technical and consenting requirements for hydrological sensor instrumentation and undertaking device installations and maintenance operations, and associated activities, as appropriate., Experience of installing environmental monitoring equipment (preferably hydrological monitoring equipment e.g. instruments capable of monitoring stage/depth, velocity, water physiochemistry) or similar.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in environmental monitoring or a discipline relevant to the role.

  • Experience of implementing or undertaking works under traffic management measures.

  • Certificates/training relevant to the role e.g. CSCS, SMSTS, BPSS, NRSWA, confined spaces.

  • Working knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation and best practices.

  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to overcome issues.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and engage with customers.

  • Ability to thrive in a challenging environment, prioritise tasks effectively, and respond promptly to changing conditions and priorities.

    Dependant on skills & experience, Salary will be competitive, reflecting the candidate's skills and experience.

  • 33 days holiday including Statutory Bank Holidays.

  • 5% of salary in share options.

  • Hours of work are 9am to 5pm with a half hour lunch break.

  • The position is based in our Loughborough office although we will consider flexible working arrangements.

  • The position involves travel throughout the UK, including overnight stays, to facilitate client engagements and participate in field activities.
