Full Job Description

To help maintain statutory health and safety standards in the kitchen.

Be thoroughly acquainted with the fire procedures and what to do in case of a fire. Be aware of destinations of fire extinguishers.

Participate in training and staff development courses. This will include basic food hygiene.

On arriving at Rossmore both of the breakfast trolleys and tea trolleys are to be set up and placed in the dining area.

A full check and clean of the staff room is carried out along with the fridge and freezer temperatures taken and recorded.

Each member of the kitchen staff will set a trolley up ready for the breakfast toast round.

Each member of kitchen staff will take either the West wing or the East wing, to which the staff member will require to obtain an up-to-date handover from the senior member of staff.

The kitchen staff members will need to cross-reference the handover sheet/patient list with both the advice to kitchen forms and the daily menu sheets amending any changes, to also ensure any changes are made raised on the whiteboard.

All patients receive a fresh jug of water from the fridge and replenish.

Toast round will also involve completing menus and collecting any dirty pots which is to be documented on the chart provided. Once all collected the pots are to be washed.

Turn ovens on sort and empty cam cart ensuring all food required is received, temperature of cam cart required.

Tea round chart to fill in modified drinks to be made.

2nd regen to be turned on.

Check daily menus ensure all prep is carried out sandwich's salad ect.

Modified meals sent out red tray, red plate, number on lid, after lunch all pots to be washed.

Tea round to be carried out again, record on sheet who has received fluids.
