Full Job Description

Reporting to the Head Chef, you can expect your working day to include the following:

  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen, which will include washing dishes, pots, pans and utensils, as well as cleaning kitchen surfaces, floors and equipment.

  • Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping and organising ingredients.

  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is clean and in good working order, reporting any maintenance issues to the Head Chef.

  • Assist with the unloading and the correct storage of food and stock deliveries.

  • Manage the disposal of kitchen waste and recycling, ensuring compliance with health safety regulations.

    Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.

  • Physical stamina to perform manual tasks and stand for long periods.

  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

  • Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter or similar role is preferred but not essential.
