Full Job Description

We now seek a temporary Medical Administrator to work collaboratively with the admin and secretarial teams.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

· To send and receive daily post and process electronic incoming letters

· Scan and 'Workflow' documentation

· To read and summarise coding of new patients notes.

· To retrieve notes upon request and ensure all records are returned accurately

· Transportation of notes and documentation between sites.

· Emailing and Photocopying.

· Monitoring and undertaking appropriate admin in regard to shared email accounts.

· To assist with cover in the absence of colleagues.

· To maintain positive and professional relationships with all staff and third parties.

· To ensure complete confidentiality in regards to patient/staff/visitors/third parties.

· To comply with all Practice protocols, policies, legal requirements and procedures.

· To undertake training as directed

· A good standard of English and Maths to GSCE level or equivalent standard.

· Strong IT skills including Word and Outlook.

· Proven admin skills (min 12 months)

· Fast and accurate data entry and keyboard skills.

· Experience of working with the general public.

· A clear and polite telephone manner.

· Good planning, prioritisation and general time management skills.

· Good team player with ability to work autonomously and without constant supervision.

· Effective and positive communication skills.

· Good problem solving and analytical skills.

· Ability to follow instruction and comply with policy and procedure.

· High levels of confidentiality, integrity and loyalty.

· Forward thinking and self-motivated.

· Sensitive and empathetic.

· Flexible and cooperative.

· Ability to work under pressure.

Desirable:

· NVQ2 in Health & Social Care.

· Working knowledge of System One.

· Previous experience in a similar role/working in healthcare.

· Flexibility to work outside of core hours.

· Own transport.
