Full Job Description

In this role, you will provide colleagues with intelligence and direction on spares-related issues for the operational and field teams.

You will work alongside platform leads to ensure we have the right spares in the right places, providing support and advise GXO on repair avoidance.
You will also be involved in the production of ADHOC reports when when requested to show demand and usage data.

In addition, you will identify cost reduction opportunities by driving the recovery of spares for reuse, driving the resolution of outstanding EFRs, monitoring and, where possible, rationalising repair contracts and the reduction of external expenditure.

Leading on spares recovering projects - single point of contact for all spares recoveries within BT Networks, using network knowledge and expertise understanding which spares can be processed into stock or be identified for disposal generating cost savings.

In addition:
NISM provide support For NISM spares including movement of spares.
Analysis of Rico data and share with teams best practice for spares ordering.
ECO working with platforms identifying kit for removal and working the platform teams and Supply chain and tracking cost saving. Recovering costs from disposals and saving storage costs for Networks and Underpinning networks target 2024/25.

You'll have the following responsibilities

  • Ability to provide support and analysis to stock and spares platform leads - working with Platform teams and Supply Chain to proactively highlight risk areas, drive improvement opportunities and support in-life stock and spares management.

  • You keep customer informed by providing timely and quality updates (system notes and KCIs) and take ownership: you plan next steps to resolve and own until completion.

  • Proactively utilise and monitor appropriate OSS (Operational Support System) to highlight, diagnose and resolve service/platform issues.

  • Proactively coach others by sharing knowledge and best practice.

  • You continue to drive your own personal development

  • Progress and own calls or issues received from customers, suppliers, and BT MFUs, taking action ensuring correct feedback and resolution procedures are conducted.

  • You work collaboratively with colleagues, customers, and suppliers - in line with BT's Values.

  • You work with the wider Leadership team to provide suggestions to make things better.

  • Work collaboratively across teams and LOBs (Line of Business) to resolve issues.

  • You are self-motivated and take a proactive, inquisitive approach to your work.

  • You are an active participant in 121s/performance conversations - providing feedback and owning personal development.

  • You help update local process documentation (OneNote or Knowledge Management site).

  • You communicate any problems e.g., operational, safety, security and provide constructive suggestions for resolution and/or improvement.

  • You utilise your Pool Days for training and development (and support operational team if required by Duty Manager).

  • You adhere to Health and Safety by reporting issues and ensuring mandatory training is up to date.

  • You follow local processes and policies where applicable.

    Your background or previous experience is not important to us, we will provide the necessary training.


  • We are looking for an eager and enthusiastic person who will relish the opportunity to learn and to get stuck into this important role.

    Knowledge of EFR systems and the end to end spares process would be beneficial in addition to experience using MS Excel.

    Experience of assets would be useful.

    You'll have great investigation and problem solving skills and and eagerness to learn.
