    Bombardier Aerospace is seeking Operational Support Director, to lead and drive the operational support teams that include:
  • Production planning

  • Direct and indirect procurement

  • Part stores and tool stores

  • Customer management

  • Customer invoicing, disputes, resolutions


  • Roles, Responsibilities and Engagements
  • Generally responsible for oversight of all operational support teams for Bombardier London

  • Lead the development of strategic plans to support new programs and capabilities based on analysis of market trends and continuous improvement

  • Perform management responsibilities for all direct reports, including coaching supervisors and managers through the Company performance cycles, performance reviews and improvement, work assignments and determining staff training needs to maintain work force qualifications and productivity.

  • Ensure operational support functions that are affecting product quality, are competent on the basis of appropriate education, initial/continual training, by giving input to and approval of the yearly training program.

  • Develop and submit annual department budget including manpower requirements to the General Manager. Achieve monthly financial objectives for the site i.e., labor margin, parts margin, capital expenditures, and budgeted operating expenses.

  • Ensure the tooling and materials departments determine production needs and assure proper tooling and equipment is available to support operational requirements

  • Assess the production schedule (hangar and AOG) on a dynamic 3-month schedule in coordination with the Operations Director to ensure on-time delivery.

  • Oversee interface with customer representatives, coordinate customer communication activities and resolve any questions or disputes on customer invoiced for performed maintenance

  • Comply with all OSHA Health & Safety guidelines, as well as environmental laws

  • Approve payment of vendors' or suppliers' invoices for services or supplies required by Maintenance Department

  • Ensure operational support teams meet EASA/CAA regulations, as well as customer quality expectations

  • Actively support and integrate continuous improvement activities into program procedures and processes

  • Collect and analyze service and parts data to identify trends and ensure margin performance is achieved

    Wealth of experience in aircraft maintenance, preferably with leadership experience across operational delivery and supporting functions


  • Previous Form 4 postholder experience (preferred)


  • Knowledge of Aircraft Maintenance Management, ideally within business jet aircraft environment/


  • Working knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety rules, Human Factors, Human performance/-limitations, and regulations as they apply to safety and environmental aspects of aircraft maintenance operation


  • EASA Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance License or equivalent, or bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering (or equivalent)


  • Knowledge on EWIS and CDCCL Knowledge of applicable EASA Regulations, Part 145 and any other relevant regulations needed to ensure the operation maintains compliance


  • Have working knowledge of process improvement methodology and application


  • Have accounting and budgeting principals' acumen necessary to read and interpret profit/loss statements, financial reports in order to meet financial objectives for assigned area and programs


  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, as well as effective leadership and coaching skills with the ability to develop people


  • Possess strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to forecast labor and skill requirements


  • Have excellent presentation skills necessary to effectively communicate with customers and all levels of management


  • Have research and analytical skills necessary to collect, analyze, and interpret survey data, customer behaviors, and general trends within the applicable aircraft market
