Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our small outdoor learning team on a 1- year fixed term contract (possible extension if funding allows).

The role will include delivering outdoor learning sessions with schools, families and nurture groups 2 days week at WHCF, alongside some seasonal vegetable garden maintenance.

We also have an exciting site to deliver outdoor activities from at Hartcliffe City Farm. This position will cover some maintenance of the HCF education garden alongside session delivery where needed.

This role will be based at both WHCF and HCF sites.
Purpose

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To provide a hands-on role safely delivering schools, youth and family activities based around farming, food and nature whilst liaising with other farm staff at both sites.

  • To help maintain an educational garden at HCF and assist with garden maintenance at WHCF where needed.

  • To assume responsibility for all the children left in your care, ensuring high standards of supervision, safety and welfare.

  • Maintain appropriate administrative records.

  • Support organisation-wide events and activities when required.

  • To be available during school holidays and for approximately 4 weekend sessions per year.

  • To promote and value the experiences of all participants involved.


  • General
  • Comply at all times with Farm policies (e.g. Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety, Environmental and Confidentiality) and contribute to risk assessments.

  • Maintain an understanding of the Farm's structure and ethos and contribute to the smooth running of the organisation.

  • To assist in promotion of the organisation, its services and activities.

  • Carry out other duties commensurate with the responsibilities of the role.

  • Staff are expected to work in a flexible way when the occasion arises and the nature of work requires a flexible approach to hours of work including some weekend working.
