Full Job Description

As an Advanced Mental Health Practitioner working in the Police Mental Health Joint Response Car (PMHJRC) you will work alongside Cambridgeshire Constabulary (CC) Officers to provide an immediate response to people in the community who are experiencing a mental health crisis.

Working 3pm - Midnight (Sun - Thurs) and 4pm - 2am (Fri - Sat) (please note these could be subject to change), the PMHJRC responds to 999 calls made to the Police, that have been identified as having a primary mental health need. The Advanced MH Practitioner will carry out a brief triage to ascertain whether a person can safely remain at home to avoid unnecessary attendance at acute hospitals, offer safety planning, sign posting and referrals into MH services if needed. They will also support officers in making decisions around the use of S.136 ., Successful candidate will work closely with Cambridgeshire constabulary to respond to 999 calls from, or concerning people in a mental health crisis.

The role of the Advanced Mental Health Practitioner will be to triage mental health presentations, need and risk and make collaborative plans for appropriate follow up care as appropriate.

Please note - the successful candidate will undergo police vetting as part of the employment checks.
