Full Job Description

We are looking for a Practice Educator to work within the the Medical Imaging Department at Ipswich Hospital. This post is until 31st March 2025. This post is full time 37.5 hours per week. We will accept a job share.
We are part of a large district general hospital and you will be expected to rotate through all areas including the Emergency Department, CT scan, Fluoroscopy , all the plain film imaging modalities as well as opportunities for the right candidates to train within Vascular & Intervention and Cardiac modalities.
You will be responsible for the co-ordination and facilitation of the integration of practice and academic education of undergraduate student radiographers in the practice setting.
You will also teach and supervise students in the clinical environment as well as maintaining your own clinical competence to ensure delivery of a high standard of education.
You will actively participate in the Quality System and other quality initiatives within the department and the profession, to develop, implement and evaluate practice and techniques.
Internal applicants currently employed by ESNEFT will be offered on a secondment basis only. Please ensure you have discussed this with your line manager., + Provide high quality learning and teaching environment, and act in a supervisory capacity for undergraduate students
+ Co-ordinate and participate in the implementation of practice assessments and provide feedback to students, clinical staff and University of Suffolk in a timely manner
+ Provide pastoral support to students during practice experience
+ Devise and implement practice learning rota's that facilitate the achievement of student objectives
+ Initiate, manage and deliver training and updates to mentors, maintaining appropriate records
+ Ensure effective communication between Ipswich Radiotherapy Department and the University of Suffolk
