Science Technician

This role will involve organising apparatus and resources prior to lessons, including the construction, preparation, checking of any specialist equipment and assisting teaching staff with practical and examination work. Monitoring and maintenance of equipment will be essential, as will maintaining a safe and clean laboratory environment. In conjunction with our other technician, the role will support the delivery of A Levels in science, as well as our vocational courses Applied Science and Health and Social Care in our new Clinical Health Suite.

The successful candidate will have Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths and relevant Health and Safety qualifications identified in the person specification. Experience of working in a school is desirable, and, ideally candidates should possess a good working knowledge of COSHH & CLEAPSS in order to maintain compliance with Health and Safety Regulations. The ability to work independently and in a team, have initiative, and good organisational skills. It is vital to be able to prioritise workloads and ensure that strict deadlines are met whilst working under pressure and always maintaining confidentiality.
