Full Job Description

We are now seeking to recruit a Security and Reception Supervisor to work as part of the existing team at our Hospital in North Benfleet, Essex. Our priorities are to maintain a safe environment for staff, service users and visitors in line with St Andrew's Healthcare policies and standards.

You will lead and work as part of a diverse team which operates from a reception / control room at the entrance of the hospital. You will manage the Receptionists and Security Officers who are the first point of contact for visitors to site and callers to our switch board. Your team facilitate the daily distribution of keys and personal alarms and the entry / exit of St Andrew's staff through the secure airlock. You will monitor and respond accordingly to all alarm activations including internal emergencies, as well as patrol specified areas of the site. You will create and maintain a high level of professionalism at all times and ensure records are maintained accurately.

  • Must be able to demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be willing and capable of undertaking the necessary training.


  • Successful candidates must be able to attend one full week's induction before undertaking any duties on the wards, and complete a 6 month probation. An awareness of the security requirements within a secure healthcare environment is essential, previous experience of working in a healthcare environment and security control room is desirable.
