Full Job Description

The post holder will manage individuals with secondary mental health service needs whilst hey are in prison custody. This includes assisting in the delivery and development of effective, needs based, modern mental health services within the prison .
The post holder should be expert in all areas of service delivery, ensuring effective communication is maintained at all times.
The post holder will be responsible and accountable for the effective management of their own caseload and be expected to effectively utilize nursing skills and resources to provide high quality service to all service users. This role requires the post holder to contribute to maintaining the CPA process throughout the legal and custodial process., We are aspiring to ensure our workforce is representative of the diverse communities that we serve, and we are strongly committed to removing barriers to employment for candidates from under-represented groups, for example BAME, Disabled and LGBT+ communities. Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust provide a commissioned mental health service which delivers mental health care to men in custody at HMP Forest Bank. The team provide mental health assessment, treatment and support to cover a wide range of mental health conditions working within the stepped care model.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Mental Health Nurse to join our team, on a 12 month fixed term contract, in providing secondary mental health care which is delivered in the prison. This post is part of the secondary mental health team which is comparable to a community mental health team in the community.
This post is a 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave., + Pay Enhancements - 30% additional for Evenings (8pm onwards) and Saturdays and 60% additional for Sundays and Bank holidays.
