Full Job Description

The Senior Operations Manager will be an experienced individual responsible for the complete operational management, including full budgetary control of various projects and initiatives. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the achievement of desired profit margins and high levels of customer satisfaction. This multifaceted role involves project management for publishing operations and organising award dinners, roundtables and briefings globally.,

  • Demonstrating a high level of customer satisfaction by addressing customer needs and ensuring responsiveness

  • End-to-end operational management of allocated events, collaborating closely with relevant stakeholders

  • Project manage the operational delivery of various publishing products, including sponsored reports and annual commercial projects

  • Supervising the print, dispatch and distribution of published content

  • Overseeing sponsor fulfilment, ensuring contractual obligations are met

  • Maximising the profitability, sustainability and quality of each project through effective procurement

  • Leading the process of venue selection, contract negotiation, and date coordination for events, as well as managing supplier relationships.

  • Ensuring accurate budgets are in place for events and publishing projects, controlling costs to deliver within budget

  • Developing creative solutions for new revenue streams and maximizing profitability and sustainability

  • Compile relevant information for clients to include, but not limited to, clear instructions on submitting required materials, access times on the day of the event, and venue selection

  • Managing the production and distribution of event branding, signage and collateral, ensuring brand consistency and adherence to quality standards

  • Organizing staffing plans and requirements, including task allocation and travel arrangements

  • Ensuring risk management and compliance at events, conducting thorough risk assessments

  • Training and mentoring team members, both permanent and temporary as required

  • Managing ad-hoc projects as directed by the Director of Operations

    5+ years of proven experience in B2B Event Operations

  • Extensive experience of working on events in a corporate environment to include both operational management and full budget control

  • Proficiency in venue contracting and negotiation, with a demonstrated ability to secure favourable terms and conditions

  • Have strong multi-tasking and prioritisation skills and able to work on several projects simultaneously

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Experience in risk policies affecting international events such as vat, modern slavery, ant-bribery, trade sanctions etc. as well as the Event risk management & awareness framework

  • Experience in training and mentoring team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment

  • Proactive and takes initiative by being able to identify problems, research and evaluate options creatively and innovatively

  • Self-management skills, including the ability to take accountability and ownership of tasks and projects

  • Flexibility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, along with a willingness to travel internationally as required
