About the business unit:
The Buildings and Cities Unit (BNC) has a major presence in Mott MacDonald's regional offices throughout the UK and mainland Europe, providing a wide range of diverse and transferable cross-sector skills across five key Sectors; Advisory, Built Environment, Energy, Transportation and Water. We also provide local services to customers and technical leadership to the rest of the Group in these sectors.

  • We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Water team at our new office in Livery Street, Birmingham. This role will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team, in a vibrant multi-disciplinary office. The successful candidate will help to deliver sustainable infrastructure projects for a diverse range of government and private clients including HS2, local authorities, contractors, developers, environmental agencies, and water utilities. Significant projects include HS2 Phase 1, Werrington Grade Separation, Wednesbury Depot and University Station upgrade.
    What you will contribute to the team
    The role carries a high degree of autonomy. As a Senior or Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for managing discrete design packages and multi-disciplinary design teams, undertaking design reviews, assuring designs, creating and controlling task budgets and assisting senior management on the delivery of our projects. Opening opportunities and winning new work, Line Management, motivation, development and performance of other direct reports and junior staff are also integral parts of this role.
