Senior Python Engineer, Platform Portability

Our mission is to help Roku scale by enabling Roku OS to run on more and more devices and extend our reach. We work closely with other teams within Roku and our silicon partners to enable them to effectively develop, test, and maintain device platforms at scale., We are seeking a versatile and skilled Software Engineer with experience of Cloud Systems, Scripting, CI/CD pipelines and Web Applications. In this position, you will be part of a team dedicated to developing and maintaining Roku's Partner Tooling which enables us to work productively with partners bringing up Roku OS on new hardware.,

• Develop, document, deploy, and maintain tools to enable our partners to productize and sustain platforms at scale


• Suggest tools, cloud-based technologies/services and best practices to improve stability, performance and quality


• Implement, test, document, and deliver scalable and reliable platform services and components that operate within Roku's web application framework


• Participate in an Agile development process, including scoping, technical design, estimation effort, coding, testing, debugging, code reviews, maintenance, and support
  
  3+ years of experience in Python, Flask, Advanced Python Libraries


• 3+ years of experience in backend or full stack development


• 1+ years of experience in AWS, CI/CD, Docker, Git, Shell Scripting


• Experience with build systems - GNU Makefiles, OpenEmbedded, BitBake


• Cloud Computing, REST APIs, and microservice architectural skills


• Proven track record of success with application development and deployment


• Familiarity with building developer tools


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills


• Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
