Full Job Description

As part of the SITS implementation programme this post is responsible for the delivery of Tribal SITS student records system, including eVision functionality, across the student lifecycle. The post will contribute to the analysis, testing, environment management and configuration of SITS across the delivery stage of a programme. The post holder will support UON to implement SITS, ensuring user requirements are accurately captured and tested and end users are trained in the tool. The post holder will understand data structures in SITS and then apply SITS good practice.

The post holder will need to make decisions and support on shaping the delivery of agreed configuration, developing configuration, workflows and reports and reports within SITS, writing user stories, test cases, acceptance criteria and supporting both system test and other forms of UON required testing. The post holder will also need to work with colleagues across the University to ensure the delivery is fit for purpose and adoption is managed.

The delivery SITS functionality requires the ability to understand academic processes, programme and award frameworks and academic regulations. This is an important role that will play a key part in the area of data management, data quality and data integration.

This post is subject to a background disclosure check by the Disclosure and Barring Service before any appointment can be confirmed., The SRS Programme seeks an experienced Business Analyst to be responsible for and facilitate the identification of new projects, streamlining opportunities for the efficiency of the overall business. The Business Analyst will be expected to play an active role in assisting with the Portfolio and Project Management: leading investigative activities to identify root causes of problems, elicit stakeholder requirements, produce required documentation, support transitional activities, lead testing or training and presenting information to stakeholders.

Experience working as a Business Analyst within a complex organisation
Knowledge and experience of using a range of techniques to enable requirements gathering and elicitation
Exceptional verbal and written ability
Extensive experience modelling business processes and conducting analysis of both the internal and external business environment
Knowledge and experience working as a Business Analyst within an Agile, Waterfall and Prince 2 framework / environment
Ability to think holistically, listen and quickly grasp key points and concepts
Able to demonstrate working in a fast-evolving and pressurised team centric environment
Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to show empathy, assurance, influence and establish control where necessary
Ability to actively promote and support a customer-focused approach to business analysis
Able to assimilate new information quickly and explain concepts accurately and simply
Ability to work to a high degree of accuracy with attention to detail, maintaining high standards

Qualifications

Essential:

Educated to degree level or equivalent
BCS - Requirements Engineering (or equivalent experience)

Desirable:

BCS - Business Analysis Diploma (or equivalent experience)
BCS - Modelling Business Processes (or equivalent experience)
ITIL Foundation (Or relevant experience)
Prince 2 Foundation / Practitioner (or equivalent experience), Disability Confident
