Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Permanent

Play a key role in keeping accurate stock levels and ensure the smooth running of the Stores service.

Our Housing service deliver a broad range of services to residents, tenants, and leaseholders. As the city's largest provider of social housing, with a portfolio of over 19,000 homes, we are committed to providing decent, good quality housing and support services. We ensure our houses remain in excellent condition alongside providing a large internal repairs and maintenance service.

Join the Stores team to provide and prepare building materials which enable our Trade Operatives to repair tenants' homes and keep them safe. We are a small, but friendly team who work together to provide a high quality, efficient and effective service.

Our working hours for Stores are 07:30-16:00 Monday to Thursday and 07:30-15:30 on a Friday. You'll also be asked to work occasional Saturday's assisting with stock takes and at busy periods. You'll also be required to work on the emergency call out standby rota.

What you'll be doing

You'll receive, prepare, and allocate materials for our Housing Repairs and Voids teams. Aiming to provide an efficient and effective stores service on a day-to-day basis, you'll manage the arrival of deliveries and issue requested materials, plant, tools, and equipment. You'll update computer systems, databases and follow Health and Safety guidance. Assisting with maintaining stock at approved levels, you'll complete stock checks and periodic stock takes.

What you'll need

Proficient in clerical and administrative support to ensure our inventory management system is maintained. With great attention to detail and strong accuracy skills, you'll be able to check the correct authorisation has been granted and the computer system is updated. You'll be able to complete manual handling tasks.

You'll be required to have a full UK driving licence. You'll need a forklift truck driving certificate or equivalent or be able to work towards achieving this.
