Full Job Description

  • Liaise between senior Ringway management, client representatives and Structures project managers, supervisors and workforce to ensure works are undertaken to budget and programme while ensuring the absolute highest quality standards are met

  • Ensure the client representative are provided with correct documentation including programmes, safe systems of work and the like in line with current industry standards

  • Have an excellent understanding of Highways industry standards relating to works on Structures and in particular bridges, culverts, subways and retaining walls

  • Understand the Ringway finance process of pricing, costing and billing to ensure accurate and timely orders for works are received from the client and payment for those works are received by utilising the company QS and finance team.

  • Provide advice through Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) with the client representatives to ensure designs for works are fit for purpose and buildable

  • Take charge of the construction process ensuring all milestones of the project are met and adhered to following industry standards to ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001 and an excellent understanding of the Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM2015)

  • Ensure processes are in place to provide compliant safe systems of work, including temporary works processes, permitting systems applicable to the works, lift plans and the like. Check and sign off for implementation similar documentation provided by specialist contractors for structures works

  • Ensure the structures team are trained and competent to undertake the roles required of them

  • Ensure information is provided to and from the rest of the structures team and contractors and feed information back through the management team to maintain an excellent health and safety culture

  • Identify and allocate specialist contractors and suppliers for works as the need arises., Awarded Investors in People Silver, a member of the 5% Club and recognised as an Investor in Diversity.   • Knowledge and understanding of some or the following working practices: concrete placing and repair, masonry, stonework, lime mortars, reinforcing steel, bridge joints, waterproofing, watercourse management, industrial painting and protective coatings

  • Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certificate

  • Driving Licence

  • Experience in a construction/civil engineering management role

  • Competence with using Microsoft Office computer programmes, such as Word, Excel, Project, TEAMS

  • IOSH / NEBOSH qualification

  • ICE or equivalent industry qualification

  • Temporary works co-ordinator

  • Lifting appointed person
