Full Job Description

To ensure the safe, efficient and effective delivery of all aspects of the pharmacy

services delivered by Pharmacy@QEHB in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital

Birmingham, in accordance with national and local standards

To provide leadership to and act as a role model for the support staff of

Pharmacy@QEHB Ltd

To fulfil the statutory responsibilities as required by the GPhC and DoH.

To contribute to the development of a high quality and timely pharmacy service for

patients.

To develop an effective working relationships with prescribers.

To contribute to the development of appropriate additional clinical or patient centred

services.

To contribute to the optimisation and development of the overall profitability of the

business.

To contribute to the efficient management and administration of the business, To manage and contribute to the development of all pharmacy staff and

contribute to effective induction and performance management of an

appropriately qualified and flexible team.

To provide professional leadership and advice to all pharmacy staff working

for the company.

To ensure the pharmacy service provided is patient focused.

To provide clinical and professional leadership and supervision of the

pharmacy team, with appropriate record keeping.

To contribute to the identification of appropriate opportunities and support for

training and development of pharmacy staff and monitoring that they are

acting in accordance with the Code of Ethics and requirements of the

General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

To contribute to appropriate processes for assessing competency of

pharmacy staff.

To contribute to appraisals resulting in the formulation of appropriate training

plans for all members of the pharmacy staff team.

To contribute to the development and maintenance of effective and efficient

working processes for staff to follow.

To ensure that all disciplinary matters requiring attention in the absence of the

pharmacy manager are fairly, promptly and professionally handled including

appropriate accurate record keeping
