Full Job Description

Having a job is an important part of life, but people with learning disabilities and autism may find it difficult to gain work skills and find meaningful employment.

About the role:
We have an unique role in Maidstone that are looking for a part time member of staff.
You will be supporting people with learning disabilities and autism in their employment within the unit. The people you will be supporting are also employees at Tuck by Truck, you will be helping in building their confidence and gain valuable skills for future employment.

You will be assisting in preparing boxes full of snack and drinks and deliver them in our vans to local businesses - a bit like a vending machine on wheels!

As you will be driving a van, please only apply if you hold a full UK driving licence and you are willing to drive the service van.

As well as delivering the snack boxes you will be helping stock check and tally monies when collecting boxes. As a keyworker you will be working closely with individuals to set goals and provide support in achieving them. Typically, there is no personal care support needed however on the very odd occasion you made need to assist, for example, in the toilet.

Hours:
The Tuck by Truck unit opens Monday - Friday 9am - 4:30pm and we are looking to recruit to 21 hours per week.

You will need to be caring, patient, supportive and enjoy working with people. Willing to challenge misconceptions employers might have about people with disabilities.
Whether you are new to support work or have previous experience, your values are important to us. We provide a fantastic training and induction programme that will support you in your role.
The successful candidate must be willing to help with personal care when required., Disability Confident
