Full Job Description

We are seeking a well-motivated and committed individual to work within the Therapies Administration Team. The successful applicants will be part of a small team responsible for covering all therapy reception areas, typing, managing patient records and other general administration tasks. The Therapies Administration Team supports all of STSFT sites SRH, STDH & CC., The Therapies Administration team is a small team which supports all of the Therapy Services (Physiotherapy, Nutrition and Dietetics, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Podiatry and Orthotics). The team is responsible for providing reception cover as well as other administrative tasks. This involves arriving all patients for their appointments, departing the patients and booking their follow up appointment if required. Some of the administration tasks are dealing with the post, managing external correspondence, generating and sending out standard letters such as DNA letters and discharge letters etc.

You will also be responsible for dealing with enquiries from Clerical and Secretarial staff, Medical and Nursing staff, other Trust personnel and general enquiries from patients and members of the public both face to face and over the phone.

The post holder will be expected to rotate between varying reception areas across the Trust.

The staff work a range of shifts:- 7.30-15.30, 8.00-16.00, 8.30-16.30 & 9.00-17.00. Monday to Friday. We do not support weekends or bank holidays.

    Applicants will have previous clerical experience and excellent communication and organisational skills. It is essential that the successful candidate has the ability to organise and prioritise their own workload and achieve deadlines.


  • You must have evidence of a good standard of education with numeracy and literacy at minimum GCSE C grade or equivalent, and have good keyboard skills. Knowledge of email and Microsoft packages is essential and knowledge of Meditech V6 is desirable. You will be able to adapt to different working areas in the department and have a flexible approach. A knowledge and awareness of Data Protection & Information Governance guidelines is desirable and you will be willing to undertake any necessary training in these areas to support the role.

    You must have excellent customer service skills always displaying a professional, calm, polite & helpful manner promoting the Trusts ethos and core behaviours of delivering excellence.
