Full Job Description

1. Ensure all dealing execution, dividend/coupon processing and corporate actions processing are performed in accordance with our Management Companies agreed procedures and within the associated contractual service levels, whilst adhering to regulatory guidelines.

2. Assist the team with undertaking the daily Feeds processes for applicable Client Companies, assisting the T&D team with investigating and communicating any feed issues to the relevant stakeholders for resolution.

3. Record key data as required for MI reporting activity, with specific attention to any control biased reporting requirements (i.e. Monthly Client Company MI & Liquidity & Balance Control MI)

4. Follow departmental procedures and practises to provide clients with a consistently high level of service in a timely and accurate manner and in line with agreed quality standards.

5. Attend team training (both group and 1:1 as required) to enhance skills and knowledge ensuring all Technical & Dealing tasks (from complex to simple) are adequately covered.

6. Manage client assets in accordance with the FCA's requirements as set out in their Client Assets Sourcebook (CASS).

7. Input daily prices onto the systems in line with agreed SLAs.

8. Liaise with administration and finance in the smooth transition of maturities, surrenders or any other movement of assets within the client portfolio.

9. Assist with the production and submission of HM Revenue & Customs returns on behalf of our client companies (where relevant).

10. Identify Key Man activities that you perform and ensure that you adhere to your training plan, such that your training is completed in line with the T & C scheme.

11. Assist the team with performing all trade processes associated with equity investment types via CREST and Euroclear UK & Ireland Central securities depository. Including but not limited to: trade instruction, pre-matching, settlement, failed trade management, dividend reconciliation and corporate actions. Perform and manage trade and settlement in respect of structured deposits.

12. Assist the team with monitoring all internal and external systems associated with process flows that fall within the remit of the Technical & Dealing department. Ensuring timely investigation and resolution of any exceptions identified.

13. Process any manual trade entry instructions.

14. Work towards agreed objectives as part of the appraisal process.

15. Work in accordance with OPAL's ISO 27001 Policies and Procedures

16. Assist the team by scanning completed work batches for record keeping purposes

Additional Knowledge required to become fully competent

In depth knowledge of our Client Companies products for which the T&D Team are required to provide technical support

Full understanding of the different Management Companies Procedures relevant to T&D undertakings

Pay: £22,500.00-£24,000.00 per year

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Trainee Technical & Dealing Administrator. This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates or individuals with a strong technical skill set, looking to kick-start their career in the financial services industry. No previous financial services experience is required, as comprehensive training will be provided.

To provide effective and efficient servicing of Plan assets, and meet Service Level Agreement's committed to our clients.

Be fully proficient in all tasks relating to the Technical and Dealing team (i.e. Prices, Asset Reconciliations, Dealing activities, Income/Dividend runs, performing and checking regulatory returns.

Ensure all relevant regulatory requirements are met including the FCA's Conduct Rules and principles.

Competencies/Skills required upon recruitment

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel: including the ability to perform Sumif/Countif, Vlookup/Xlookup, Index/Match formulae, and good working knowledge of Pivot Tables, Filter, Conditional Formatting.

Basic MS Word and Outlook knowledge.

Attention to Detail: The ability to perform accurate and thorough data analysis, reconcile discrepancies, and maintain precise records is crucial in investment administration roles to ensure the integrity of financial data and reporting.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders. This includes the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly and concisely.

Teamwork and Collaboration: The capacity to work effectively as part of a team, collaborate with colleagues across different departments, and contribute to achieving common goals is important in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
