Full Job Description

We're looking for a Transport Planner to join our team at Warrington. You'll be responsible for route planning across our UK network along with supporting our team of drivers. You'll ensure that our transport department always runs in an efficient and effective manner. You'll work on a Monday - Friday basis working hours of 9am -5pm,

  • National driver and vehicle allocation for day and night schedules, for both customer and other on-site operations

  • Monitoring working time directive to apportion a balanced average, and planning driver workloads ensuring compliance with driver's hours and WTD legislation

  • Maintaining and planning backhaul schedule with customer and internal GXO suppliers to minimise running costs and maximise revenue

  • Various KPI reporting and analytics including period stats, branch volume and ordering trend analysis, mileage and hours, routing efficiency etc

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, experience developing relationships with customers and colleagues

  • Previous experience of working as a Transport Planner or similar operational role in a multi-site Transport environment

  • A high level of competence in data analytics and strong use of Excel/Google Sheets, able to provide supporting information and analysis in the form of spreadsheets and other visual aids is pivotal to the role

  • Strong knowledge of transport working time directive
