Full Job Description

We are seeking Trustees to support and enhance the skill set of our current Board of Trustees and help drive our strategy forward.

The role of Trustee is vital to maintain the integrity of the hospice and hold the executive team accountable for ensuring the sustainability of the organisation. Trustees are responsible for charity governance and identified as non-executive directors.

Each Trustee is expected to annually attend 4 Board meetings and participate/lead a sub-committee of the Board, which will have delegated authority to make decisions in specific subject areas, e.g. Clinical, finance, fundraising, trading and people.

We are inviting applications particularly from those with a background in retail but will warmly welcome applications from those offering other skills and experience. We are keen to welcome applications from all ages and backgrounds to maintain board diversity as well as sustain a strong belief in the mission and vision of Teesside Hospice.

We are looking for people who are able to bring different life experiences, knowledge and ideas, who can work constructively and enthusiastically to help us navigate the changing and challenging external environment we find ourselves operating in.

Are you passionate about making a difference for people with life-limiting illnesses and those who experience bereavement?

Teesside Hospice is a charity providing palliative and end of life care in its in-patient unit, alongside lymphoedema treatment, wellbeing and bereavement support to communities across North and South Tees, Cleveland and North Yorkshire.
